PoHymn Sept 16

Knowing Where

Sometimes I follow, looking for a lead

Other occasions lead, finding some who follow

I have learned to speak, avoiding the cowardly silence

I become silent, letting others bravely speak

A time to laugh instead of weep

Weeping comes to balance my laugh

I can see a woman as she is

I can also see her as she yearns to be

A man is not the same as me

But I am no better than any he

I believe in God and trust His good

God believes in me, stepping out of the way

I work inside on a rainy day

I leave the house when the sun comes to play

I am weak when others are strong

I am strong when the weaker requires mercy

I am human, stained with error

I am human, graced with heaven

Knowing my place is placing my know

Planting my best and watching it grow

For the only way to find inner peace

Is knowing where to place your piece.
